Every year, hundreds of youth age out of foster care in Indiana. The transition to independence can be tough! Young people in Firefly’s Older Youth Services program have elected to build their skills and self-reliance with help from a case worker. Most either work full-time or attend school with part-time employment. It means so much to these young adults to know someone is in their corner - especially during the holidays!
Kazarian Story
At 17 years old, Kazarian is a confident, thoughtful young man with a calm presence that draws people in. He communicates with kindness and empathy, always taking time to understand others. Kazarian enjoys working out and reading, often inspired by stories of discipline and strength like those of Miyamoto Musashi. When he relaxes, he loves playing video games or watching The Boondocks, where his sharp sense of humor shines through. His favorite colors—purple, black, white, and red—reflect both his strength and creativity. Whether he’s picking out a new hoodie or dreaming of riding a bike through the neighborhood, Kazarian approaches life with quiet determination. He’s a caring, grounded young man who’s ready to make his mark on the world.
